Raku Faces, Pendants and Earrings
Raku faces and pendants are one of my two specialty areas (Also see: footed bowls). [Raku means "enjoyment, "comfort", or "ease."] The faces are striking. I always get positive comments when I wear one - and you will too! Strangers buy them off my neck when I tell them they are for sale. I have had regular orders for raku faces and pendants as bride gifts to bridesmaids and business office gifts for the holidays.
Raku Faces - Starting with my sculpted face center (1.5" diameter) I add clay adornments. The faces are then air dried, bisque fired, hand glazed, then raku fired. The pieces are then scrubbed clean and enhanced. For detail, fine wire is woven for hair or headdresses, and often I add bead work as the mood strikes me. With the vast number of variables no two raku faces are ever the same. Raku faces sell for $45 to $65. I usually have 25 to 35 raku faces available.
Raku Pendants - Starting with a clay disc (3/4" to 1.5" diameter), I design each pendant. The pendants are then air dried, bisque fired, hand glazed, then raku fired. The pieces are then scrubbed clean. With the vast number of variables no two raku pendants are the same. Contact me for current pricing on Raku pendants. I usually have 25 to 35 raku pendants available.

Raku faces and pendants come with copper or steel magnetic-clasp neck wires (16", 18" or 20"). Contact me for current pricing on heavy, silver-like chokers. Many customers use their own chain or neck wire. If you find something you like in this gallery I will be happy to e-mail you pictures of what is available in similar style for your review. I also take commissions for a customer preferred shape, theme, and glaze (See: Buying and Ordering).
